Baker's Assistant

Job Summary

Our Apprentice Baker is a key player in making sure our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious art for our guests and provide the sweets that will be the hit of their parties. Other key responsibilities include producing quality bakery products to ensure customer requirements are met and building customer loyalty by providing exemplary customer service. This is an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department including Clerk functions and Cake Decorator functions. Youll also focus on baker duties for someone with minimal or no retail decorating experience. To thrive in this position, you should be a team player. Job Description

• Experience ranging from zero to six months is acceptable
• Desired qualifications include prior experience in Bakery or a related industry
• Formal completion of high school studies is not a compulsory requirement for enrolling in this education pathway
• Lifting Threshold: The lifting requirement extends to objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• The age of at least 18 years old is mandatory

Job Responsibilities

• Follow scratch procedures for bench tasks as instructed.
• Shape and mold the product according to the provided scratch recipes to achieve the desired specifications.
• Adhere to the recommended baking time and temperature stated in the recipe for the prepared item.
• To maintain the desired dimensions and form of the product, carefully put items in the proof box, configure controls, and seal the door securely.
• Comply with the recommended steps for the making and frying of donuts based on the set procedures.
• Place items in the freezer for storage and take them out to maintain freshness.
• Employ engaging and effective suggestive selling tactics while actively providing product samples as deemed necessary.
• Emphasize safety as the foremost consideration in all facets of our work to safeguard our team, customers, and merchandise.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in finding the products they need. Bakery staff members should be knowledgeable enough to answer questions and suggest products to customers.
• Carry out the necessary steps for managing products and equipment while adhering to food safety and security guidelines to establish a safe shopping atmosphere.
• Guarantee compliance with safety and sanitation standards by keeping equipment, tables, utensils, floors, and department work areas clean.
• Produce a selection of bakery items through baking both prepared and homemade products for the showcases, consistently rotating items and upholding code dating protocols to provide customers with only the freshest options.
• Ensure adherence to department standards by following safety regulations, sanitation methods, emergency procedures, cleanup protocols, steritech requirements, proper lifting practices, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Precisely document special instructions for Bakery products to ensure the customer is pleased with the end result.
• Know the components and their intended functions in the crafting of fresh baked items.
• Accumulate all the crucial baking materials for the baking operation, focusing on scratch recipes.
• Contribute to maintaining the efficiency of the bakery's backroom, refrigerated, and frozen storage areas through the timely unloading of deliveries.
• Support can be provided in other areas as requested.
