Job Summary

Our Meat Cutters ensure that our guests are receiving the best and most delicious products, presented according to their requirements. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service and supporting the Meat Lead, you'll make sure that our offerings and services promote guest loyalty, and growth and success for the store. As a member of our Meat Team, your primary responsibility will be to cut meat and other products for sale and ensure our customers are provided with the freshest product possible. Youll create and sustain an exemplary customer service atmosphere to build lifelong relationship by focusing on understanding and exceeding customer needs. Newly hired meat cutters and apprentice meat cutters can receive a bonus of $1,000

New Team Members will be eligible for a one-time new hire bonus paid in two installments, less any applicable taxes.

A $500 reward set for employees who have completed a three-month tenure

Upon six months of continuous employment, a $500 installment will be provided

Job Description

• Requisite Experience: Achieving the expected level in a skills assessment designed for the position; 6 months to 1 year of experience, or the successful fulfillment of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior meat cutting experience
• A high school diploma or a similar level of education is the desired qualification
• Fulfilling meat cutting certification is a crucial step for professionals in this industry
• Should have the ability to pick up and move items that weigh up to 50 pounds

Job Responsibilities

• Divide meat into smaller cuts for retail presentation subsequent to removing it from the cooler.
• Serve guests by responding to their inquiries and meeting special requests.
• Verify product codes and rotate items to prioritize customer safety.
• Ensure proper packaging and preservation of the meat selection.
• Offer products and services that consistently meet the standards of internal and external customers while adhering to the Company's Guiding Principles, Common Goals, and Service Credo's.
• Place a strong emphasis on prioritizing safety in all aspects of our operations to safeguard our Team Members, guests, and products.
• Make yourself knowledgeable about the items available in the store to be able to respond to customer questions and offer advice as needed.
• Implement your skills in utilizing code-based dating information.
• Nurture a culture that celebrates food by actively engaging team members and guests with your excitement and devotion to gastronomy.
• Greet customers with a smile and friendly attitude, whether encountering them in the Team Member's designated space or elsewhere within the store.
• Ground meat is made by grinding coarse ground meat using a grinder and then placing it on a tray for further use.
• Inspire your team and clients with a fervor for culinary delights and a readiness to surpass expectations in serving the highest quality dishes.
• Maintain a safe shopping environment by handling products and equipment in compliance with food safety and safety protocols.
• Encourage active engagement opportunities, as appropriate.
• Verify contents of truck to unload deliveries.
• Meet safety and sanitation standards by maintaining cleanliness in equipment, tables, utensils, and floors.
• Precisely document and assist in the preparation of special requests to ensure customers are pleased with the end result.
• Play a role in ensuring the efficiency of meat coolers and freezers by unloading deliveries in a timely manner.
• Follow the right procedures to help the store achieve its desired out-of-stock percentage targets.
