The responsibility of our Meat Cutters is to guarantee that our customers receive top-quality and appetizing products, presented to meet their specifications. In addition to delivering unparalleled customer service and assisting the Meat Lead, you will ensure that our product range and services foster customer loyalty, as well as the growth and triumph of the store. Your core function as a member of our Meat Team will be to carve meat and other goods for retail purposes, ensuring that our clients are supplied with the freshest items possible. By concentrating on understanding and exceeding customer requirements, you will establish and uphold an exceptional customer service environment to cultivate lasting relationships. New hires for the positions of meat cutter and apprentice meat cutter are eligible for a $1,000 bonus

New Team Members will be eligible for a one-time new hire bonus paid in two installments, less any applicable taxes.

A $500 payment granted upon completion of three months on the job

The $500 installment is scheduled for disbursement upon reaching the six-month mark of employment

Job Description

• Experience Criteria: Fulfilling the requirements of a specialized skills assessment; having between 6 and 12 months of prior experience, or graduating from the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship scheme
• Experience in meat slicing and dicing is a plus
• Preference is given to candidates with a high school diploma or a similar qualification
• Meat cutting certification is a necessary requirement for this profession
• Must be capable of carrying loads weighing up to 50 pounds

Job Responsibilities

• Trim meat for retail distribution by dividing it into smaller cuts upon removal from the cold storage unit.
• Support patrons by addressing queries and fulfilling unique demands.
• Inspect and rotate the coding on products to uphold customer security.
• Wrap and manage the meat counter.
• Ensure that the products and services offered consistently match the expectations of both internal and external customers in alignment with the Company's Guiding Principles, Common Objectives, and Service Credo's.
• Uphold a commitment to prioritizing safety in all areas of our business, focusing on our Team Members, guests, and goods.
• Familiarize yourself with the inventory at the store in order to address customer queries and provide guidance on product choices.
• Make use of your expertise in deciphering code dates.
• Encourage the development of a food-centric community by spreading enthusiasm and fervor about cuisine among team members and customers.
• Offer a friendly greeting and smile to customers, regardless of whether the interaction occurs within the Team Member's assigned section or elsewhere on the premises.
• To produce ground meat, start by grinding the course ground meat using a grinder and then transfer it into a tray.
• Motivate your colleagues and customers by demonstrating a love for cuisine and a dedication to exceeding expectations in offering the finest dishes.
• Follow proper procedures for the handling of products and equipment to uphold food safety and safety standards for a protected shopping atmosphere.
• Create occasions for hands-on engagement as needed.
• Offload deliveries through truck inspection process.
• Uphold cleanliness standards for equipment, tables, utensils, and floors to meet safety and sanitation requirements.
• Record special requests with precision and help in getting them ready to make sure customers are happy with the end product.
• Contribute to the upkeep of meat cooler and freezer effectiveness through prompt delivery unloading.
• Follow the appropriate steps to ensure the store meets its goals for out-of-stock percentages.
