Responsibilities

In the capacity of a Bartender, your obligations include delivering courteous, efficient, and sincere service to each bar guest, exuding a positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. It is essential to follow beverage recipes meticulously to produce alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for bar customers and diners. Tasks encompass order-taking, promoting drink selections, ensuring responsible alcohol service, delivering food and beverages proficiently utilizing the established delivery system, processing payments, giving back correct change, and ensuring the accuracy of all transactions. Bartenders are also involved in the resetting, tidying, and sanitizing of dining tables and the bar area, as well as contributing to the overall upkeep and cleanliness of the bar throughout the shift.

Qualifications

A qualified applicant must have excellent communication skills, the willingness to work with others as a team, able to lift 15-30 pounds, and exert fast-paced mobility between the bar, dining room and kitchen for the length of the shift, and keep pace with our guests from casual lunches to packed Saturday nights.

Precise functions and responsibilities ascribed for performance:

1. Mixes liquor, soda, water, and juices in specified measurements using appropriate glassware to create both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at Applebee's.

2. Follows Applebee's guidelines to serve and pour wine, bottled beer, and draft beer with precision and in appropriate glasses.

3. Ensures adherence to the regulations enforced by the PLCB and upholds Applebee's Responsible Service of Alcohol policy to guarantee that patrons are not overserved, thus avoiding intoxication above the legal limits. Notifies the manager promptly if a guest exhibits signs of being drunk and handles the situation in line with the established procedures.

4. Establishes verbal interactions with patrons at the bar and in the dining room to promote a friendly and energetic atmosphere.

5. Carries out starting and finalizing side obligations and checklist items as directed.

6. Dispenses meals and drinks to patrons frequenting the bar and offers support to restaurant customers as and when required.

7. Slices fruit and vegetable decorations to meet the recommended quantity each day.

8. The bar at Applebees is supplied with a selection of drinks including juices, ice, spirits, beer, wine, and other necessary products to run the establishment effectively.

9. Responsible for keeping the bar environment neat and uncluttered, including the bar counter, flooring, and storage compartments, by removing debris, dirty glasses, plates, utensils, and trash.

10. Provides patrons in the bar section with their individual checks, ensures precise cash handling, and concludes transactions through credit card or gift card payments as needed.

11. Facilitates the ordering of meals for employees and managers.

12. Utilizes the point-of-sale computer register system to relay food orders to the kitchen and accurately monitors all beverages served from the bar.

13. Involves oneself in various company initiatives and activities like promoting gift cards, participating in charitable programs, and attending related meetings.

14. All operational responsibilities as instructed by Management.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

1. One must be 21 years old when they are brought on board.

2. Skilled in wiping down tables and their bases, tidying up floor debris, and sanitizing booth seating in various areas within the restaurant.

3. Moves dishes, glassware, and trays back and forth from the dining room, bar, and kitchen a minimum of 30 instances per shift.

4. The job mandates a level of competence in reading, writing, basic mathematics, and verbal communication.

5. Sustaining mobility and unrestricted range of motion throughout the duration of the work shift.

6. Lifts and transports glass racks, plate ware, and cases of food and drinks up to 30 pounds in weight, doing so no fewer than 30 times per shift.

7. Skilled in reacting promptly during emergencies to mitigate risks to personal safety and that of others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Need to exhibit the capacity to stand and engage in swift mobility for durations lasting up to six hours.

2. Essential to have excellent coordination and the ability to swiftly adjust body positions in response to external stimuli.

3. The requirement includes the capability to lift items like bus pans, trays, and cases of food and drinks, with weights up to 30 pounds.
